Internationally Competitive Basic Research Aimed At:

  • Studying the mechanisms of dysfunction (immunoparalysis) of monocyte-derived macrophages leading to the development of mycotic infections in sCAP patients,
  • Identifying exogenous factors contributing to macrophage immunoparalysis,
  • Developing organoids from healthy and patient tissues as models to study the mechanisms of lung injury resolution and their disturbances in sCAP,
  • Developing experimental models for studying the mechanisms of immunoparalysis following sCAP (influenza-associated aspergillosis).
